Newly Engaged and Looking for a Scottish Wedding Venue?

As we are bridal hair and make-up specialists based within our salon in Stirling, but have travelled all over Scotland, not just Central Scotland, we have been lucky enough to visit a few amazing wedding venues over the last few years! Let Honey and Violet showcase our favourite Scottish wedding venues…

Bachilton Barn

Bachilton Barn is stunning wedding venue located 10miles east of Perth in the Perthshire countryside. As it is a converted barn, it is the perfect blank canvas wedding venue. We love this wedding for its vintage and super rustic feel and as it is an exclusive use wedding venue, it’s also very private.  As it sits within a farm in the Perthshire countryside, and overlooks hundreds of acres of hayfields, and a beautiful pond, it’s perfect for those rustic wedding snaps!

The Byre at Inchyra

The Byre at Inchyra

The Byre at Inchyra is just an incredible venue. You have 150 acres estate all to yourself, complete with converted barn that can hold up to 180 guests, bridal day room, walled garden, two gorgeous cottages for staying and a field for glamping. What more could you ask for? We fall in-love more and more each time we visit.

Monachyle Mhor

Monachyle Mhor

Monachyle Mhor is set within the beautiful countryside of Balquidder just outside Strathyre and Callander within the Trossachs National park. The drive upto the property alone is breath taking enough, before you reach the picturesque pink hotel that sits up on the hill, drapped in ivy and flowers. Monachyle Mhor is famous for its food (Mhor 84, Mhor Bread, Mhor Fish) so you know your guests will be well fed and watered. The bridal suites and cottages attached to the hotel is the perfect area to get ready, as they are bright and spacious with some stunning rustic touches.

Killeran Village Hall

Killearn Village Hall

We love this venue so much that Violet choose this for her wedding in September 2017. The bright and spacious  village hall is a perfect blank canvas with stunning views of the countryside and overlooking Loch Lommond, giving couples the opportunity to put our own stamp on the décor for the day. The famous female trio, The Three Sisters Bake, not only bake the most incredible cakes and cook the wedding breakfast, they are pretty chilled about how you would like to dress out the venue, and their wedding co-ordinator is always on hand to help in anyway they can. The Three Sisters Bake café is open to the public during the day and turned around to become your bar area for the night time guests arriving. The venue is ideally located only 25 minutes from Glasgow and 40 mins from Stirling in the beautiful village of Killearn.

Cromlix House

cromlix house

Cromlix House is one of our local wedding venues which we hold close to our heart as our first salon was also based in Dunblane. We are now based just 20 minutes from the venue in Stirling. Following extensive refurbishment from local celeb Any Murray, Cromlix has been transformed into the elegant wedding venue. We just love the Chapel located onsite and which can hold up to 30people. The bridal suite alone is extensive, and the perfect area to get ready, also, have you seen their bathrooms? Oh, my, gosh… every-one more incredible, as the next! Could you imagine bathing in a superb roll top bath the day after…pure relaxation, just what you would need after all the dancing the night before.

Balbirnie House

If you are looking for a stunning country house, set in beautiful grounds, Balbirnie House is the perfect wedding venue. It just oozes antique glamour! From the grand main entrance, to every room in the house being decorated and dressed out perfectly, with four poster beds and luxury wallpaper, it definitely deserves a spot within our top wedding venues.  It can also hold up to 216-day guests, which is also an added bonus, as many wedding venues don’t have the space to cater to larger wedding parties.

Comrie croft

Comrie croft is not your typical wedding venue, it is a barn and cow shed…But don’t let the simplicity of that put you off! It offers the freedom to create your very own laid-back DIY wedding, with a beautiful lit court yard with fire pits for toasting marshmallows and letting your guests mingle outside in the fresh Scottish air during the drinks reception. There is an area for your guest to camp, extensive bike trails, and plenty of other out-doorsy activities to enjoy! That’s why most couples who book Comrie croft, stay for the weekend, along with most of their guests too! It’s the perfect setting for a two or three day wedding celebration!

Kinkell Byre

Kinkell Byre

Kinkell Byre is a beautiful converted barn on the coast to the south and east of St Andrews, Scotland We love the rustic feel of the barn plus the separate areas for ceremonies, drinks receptions and the wedding reception. Weather permitting, you can also get married outside which overlooks the beautiful St Andrews Coast. Along with the stunning Barn filled with fairy lights, Kinkell can point you in the right direction for food caterers and beverage suppliers that know the Byre well, to feed and water your guests throughout the day. The barn is a huge area, therefore gives you a lot of freedom to have quirky suppliers in to entertain your guests, or to hire out large sofas for a more relaxed drinks reception. There is unlimited room to play with.

Altskeith Country House

Last but not least is Altskeith Country House, a stunning Scottish country house overlooking Loch Ard, set within the Trossachs National Park. We love that you can choose to get married I the beautiful house, in the gardens under the large beech tree in front of the house or on its own private beach on Loch Ard.  Although this is a very rural location, Glasgow is only an hour away by car.
